Who we are

We are Simon Clarke & Kate Graeme and we established Matua Governance Limited in June 2020. We are both from the Bay of Plenty of Aotearoa, New Zealand and currently live in Mt Maunganui.

What we do

We provide governance, advisory & leadership direction through holding Non-Executive Director & Trustee positions on boards of various private, public & not for profit entities throughout NZ.

We also provide strategic & commercial advisory services to a number of organisations particularly around structural & constitutional establishment & reform, mergers & acquisitions, technology/digital strategy & significant change project delivery oversight. Simon also provides a “CEO/Chief Digital Officer/CXO as a Service” for organisations that need a temporary senior executive leader.

Why we do it

Our purpose is to help organizations make a positive difference to the prosperity & sustainability of Aotearoa New Zealand’s environment, society & economy through strong governance, strategic direction and advice.

We called our business “Matua Governance” not only because of where we lived, but because Matua means “chief, important, primary” in Te Reo Maori.

We believe the work that we do matters and contributes to a better Aotearoa New Zealand.
